Biggles Big Band Amsterdam to perform a free afternoon concert at The Wanderer Cafe with guest performance from Chiangrai Youth Orchestra

The Wanderer Cafe in the Woods is proud to host the Biggles Big Band 25-piece jazz orchestra from The Netherlands conducted by MrAdrieBraat (musician of the renowned Dutch Swing College Band since 1988).Once again, the band members will work with K ParametLardkasem'sChiangrai Youth Orchestra. This next generation of performers willjoin the big band onstage for a few numbers.

K NootchaPromyongof The Wanderer and her family are very committed to the Arts in Chiangrai and, like Biggles Big Band, they are big supporters of K Paramet Lerdkasem's Chiangrai Youth Orchestra. They are keen to promote live music and this is a great opportunity for them to establish their cafe as a center of Chiangrai's music scene. K Nootcha says, "Chiangrai is a great place to live. The Wanderer is proud to help add professional musical events to the long list of Fun Things to Do in Chiangrai. Music is a great way for all cultures to join together and communicate in the most universal of languages."

The music is from the great swing era, recreating the magical sounds of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and vocalist André Rabinibrings the jazz sounds of singers like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin back to life. The orchestra consists of 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 5 saxophones, guitar, piano, acoustic bass, drums. An extra string quartet consisting of 2 violins, viola and cello adds a sensational musical experience to Biggles Big Band.

Between 2009 and 2017, Biggles Big Band Amsterdam gave performances all over Thailand. The orchestra had projects like Jazz de Chang and Jazz for Kids in Kanchanaburi, gave workshops for children in NakhonPhanom, Dansai-Loei, Tak and Chiang Rai, had Thai guest singers and Thai instrumentalists at their concerts and played new arrangements of the jazz compositions of His Royal Highness King BhumibolAdulyadej. Due to the great success of their 6 previous tours, the jazz orchestra from Holland has been invited back again for another Thailand Tour in February 2018.

Now a days, there are only few big bands playing jazz music from the swing era so there is a big demand from all over the world. Thanks to the high standard of musicianship and spontaneity of Biggles Big Band’s musicians, their energy floats off the stage to mix with the audience. Wherever Biggles performs it gets a tremendous response from the audience - clapping, dancing and stamping their feet!
